How to choose the right shoes

  • The selection of shoes in size and fullness must be carried out taking into account the individual characteristics of the child's foot. The shoes should fit the foot freely and easily without compression.
  • Do not use shoes previously worn by other children.
  • Choose shoes made from natural materials.
  • When choosing, pay attention to the purpose of the shoes (everyday, festive, sports, summer, spring-autumn, winter, rain).

Terms of use

When using shoes, the following conditions must be observed: Use shoes for their intended purpose.

Dry wet shoes at room temperature, away from heaters, heat sources, avoiding direct sunlight, after filling them with crumpled paper or using special shoes for drying shoes.

Closed shoes are recommended to be worn with a shoe horn so as not to break the heel. Do not take off your shoes by stepping on the heel, this will prevent the sole from coming off.

Shoes with external straps and elastic bands should be worn using the special grip points, do not pull directly on the straps and elastic bands.

It is not recommended to wear shoes with natural leather soles in rainy weather - getting wet shoes with a leather upper is not a reason for making claims.

Don't wear the same pair of shoes every day, let it dry and return to its original shape.

Store your shoes in a dry, ventilated area.

To ensure that your shoes always look good, be soft, elastic and do not get wet, use special creams, aerosols and brushes designed for each specific material from which the shoes are made. Any dirty shoes should be cleaned of dirt with a brush, damp cloth or sponge, and only then take care of the shoes using special products.

How to properly care for certain types of shoes

Genuine leather shoes: Clean the surface from dirt with a special brush, damp cloth or sponge. Apply a thin layer of colored (colorless) cream with a brush or sponge on the cleaned and dried surface of the shoe, allow time to absorb, and then polish to a shine with a sponge or a special napkin. We recommend using special creams for shoe care that have cleaning, nourishing and water-repellent properties.

Patent leather shoes: Clean the contaminated surface with a soft damp cloth, then dry. Treat with patent shoe polish and polish with a soft cloth. We recommend using special oils and balms for shoes to make them shine and soft. Attention! Patent leather shoes should be protected from chemicals, moisture and low temperatures. It is not recommended to use such shoes at temperatures below 0 ° C, with the exception of frost-resistant patent leather shoes.

Suede, velor shoes: Dry your shoes. Clean dried shoes from dirt with a special brush (rubber or rubber). Apply a special product in aerosols to cleaned and dried shoes according to the purpose and color. We recommend treating velor and nubuck shoes with a water-repellent agent once a month. It is forbidden to use pastes and creams.

Synthetic upper: Wash the contaminated shoe surface with water and special soap and wipe it with a soft cloth.

Shoes with textile upper: Clean shoes with a brush (depending on the type of fabric) and soapy water (do not wash in washing machines). You can use special products to remove dirt stains.

Composite footwear: Clean contaminated surface. It is necessary to use delicate products marked "combi" or "station wagon" intended for combinations of patent leather, nubuck, velor.

Shoes with felt upper: After removal, dry, remove dirt, wipe with a damp soft cloth, straighten the pile with a rubber brush (while doing this, do not use great force to avoid damaging the outer layer of the material). We recommend treating felt shoes with a water-repellent agent once a month. When felt abrasion or fading, it is permissible to use colored velor and suede aerosols of the appropriate tone to restore color. Before use, try staining an inconspicuous area of the felt to match the color of the spray to the felt. Before storing, secure the felt boots by inserting moth repellent inside.

Rubber Shoes: After use, it is enough to wash it with water and dry it. When using rubber shoes, avoid mechanical damage and exposure to negative temperatures. To avoid fading, do not store rubber shoes in direct sunlight. Take good care of your shoes, and Kotofey shoes will serve you for a long time!
